Fitness Challenge Day 69

Posted by Michelle on March 15, 2014

Saturday's challenge is to act like a kid.  Whether you have children or not, think about how much they move. Remember what it was like when you were young. Kids don't want to sit down. They want to explore, figure out how things work, climb, run and play. Somewhere between childhood and adulthood we lose that excitement.  But, today it's time to re-visit how much fun it is to move with no inhibitions or worry.

You can choose from:

  • Iceskating at Skate Frederick: It's free!  Session starts at 7:30pm. Or, if you are located elsewhere, check out your local rink's public session.
  • Visiting a playground: swing, climb on the equipment, or use it to do exercises like dips/step ups on park benches and pull-ups on monkey bars.
  • Playing a virtual video game: grab your child's Wii or something similar and try any of the sport, fitness or dance related games.  You can play tennis, box, do yoga and much more with today's gaming technology.
  • Riding a bike for at least 30 minutes.
  • Jumping on a trampoline for at least 20 minutes.
  • Involving the whole family in a backyard game of tag.
